The Russian government will support the transport industry
The Russian government will support the transport industry, TASS reports citing Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
In particular, air carriers compensate for the costs of transporting people from countries with an unfavorable epidemiological situation. For these purposes, 1.5 billion rubles will be allocated from the Reserve Fund. Assistance will also be provided to automobile carriers in the entertainment industry, in the fields of culture, sports, catering and tourism.
– Another important aspect of our work is the monitoring of the financial and economic state of systemically important organizations. I signed a decree according to which the Ministry of Industry and Trade and other ministries should monitor their condition. And it is very important to take into account the risks for each of these sectors and respond to them in a timely manner, ”Mikhail Mishustin emphasized.
The Russian Prime Minister added that the Government will provide assistance to organizations both within the framework of the anti-crisis plan, and through measures that are designed to support small and medium-sized businesses.
According to experts, “coronavirus holidays” will cost the Russian economy at least 900 billion rubles, or 0.8% of GDP. At the same time, real numbers may turn out to be much higher due to the closure of shopping centers, restaurants and movie theaters, which usually smoothed out the economic “effect of the long weekend”.
