Freight trains on the Crimean bridge will go on June 1, 2020. This was told to journalists by the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vladimir Tokarev.
According to him, as reported by the TASS agency, fuel, building materials, sand and gravel will be transported primarily by rail.
Passenger train traffic on the bridge across the Kerch Strait will begin in December 2019. As Rossiyskaya Gazeta previously wrote, long-distance registered trains Tavria will carry out regular routes between Moscow and Simferopol, as well as between St. Petersburg and Sevastopol.
Five one-story trains consisting of compartment and reserved seats wagons will take the route that will connect the Northern capital of Russia with Sevastopol. The first Tavria train (No. 7/8) will leave from the Moscow station of St. Petersburg on December 23 at 14:00 Moscow time. 2741 km the train will pass in 43.5 hours.
