400 “smart scales” to be installed on regional routes in four years

In the framework of the national project “Safe and High-Quality Roads”, by 2024 it is planned to establish 397 automatic weight and size control points (APVGK) on federal highways and another 400 on the roads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. This was announced by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Dietrich during a working trip to the Tula region. According to the project passport, the cost of one point of automatic weight and size control is from 37.5 million rubles to 54.6 million rubles, depending on the configuration.

As of November 2019, 31 APVGKs were installed on the routes subordinate to Rosavtodor. One complex operated in the Republic of Crimea, in the Volgograd, Oryol, Novgorod, Tver, Tula and Novosibirsk regions. Two in the Altai Territory, in the Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad and Pskov Regions, three in the Vologda, Moscow Regions and Krasnodar Territory, five in the Leningrad Oblast. Two more are located on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The concession competition for the creation of the federal system of weight and size control (ASVGK) will be held in 2020. The terms and conditions of its conduct should be determined by the Government of the Russian Federation. There are two main candidates so far – RT-Invest Transport Systems and Rostelecom.
